Adam Cole - Chief Engineer
Attended the 5 day Marine Refrigeration Course. Excellent teaching and hands on experience. I now feel much more confident dealing with and future refrigeration issues.
Rory O'Sullivan - Marine Engineer
Fantastic course with great hands on experience. The practical tips and tricks are worth their weight in gold! 5 star
Adrian Bukmanis - Systems Controls Engineer While there are plenty of ways to learn the theory, for me the most benefit comes from spending time with people who have been there and done that. Stuart definitely fits in this category and his real-world experience across diverse equipment systems and his willingness to share his experience as part of the course was something of real value
Jarko Hekman - Marine Engineer

  1. David Lee

A subject with so much content. It was delivered very well and with a good mix of practical, making the course very enjoyable.

  2. Robert Pomeroy

I found the course very helpful as this subject is not really covered enough when training for yacht engineer licences. Refrigeration is a very important part of the engineering department onboard a modern superyacht. The practical test rigs that are available to use at the classroom are well set up and a great teaching aid.

  3. Chris Powell

This MORC 5 day course was highly beneficial. I have been at sea for 16 years and have been Chief Engineer but have had no formal hands on refrigeration training. The course is well structured and a good mix between theory and practical. I can honestly say that I will be using the training that I have received in my day to day routine and maintenance and feel confident in being able to recover, repair, test and refill a refrigeration/AC system. Highly recommended course for all Chief Engineers!

  4. Alejandro Costa Femenia

It has been a great learning experience with a wonderful team of professionals. Really interesting modules, all the way from the theoretical part to the practical side. I feel a much more skilled and confident Engineer, thanks to the knowledge shared.

  5. GW

A very worth while course which includes references to the Maritime Industry

  6. Connor McCann

Course was clear and well set up. For someone who has not had much experience on working with AC units it was extremely helpful and gave me a good fundamental understanding of the practical side of commissioning. Only thing extra I would have liked would have been more problem diagnosis teaching.

  7. Thomas Iversen

Good theoretical and practical course. Good hands on experience in faultfinding, emptying, charging and commissioning plants. Creds to the instructor for giving the students the confidence to try on they’re own.

  8. Vicente Paulino Moto Mangue

I truly loved the conversational speed on the instructors and how he allowed the entire class to participate and not to be embarrassed the content of the course was wide and it help to gain confidence on putting gauges on the refrigerating systems.

  9. Gaspar Ndong Edu Mbang

This course really helps me a lot to understand not only about what is going on in a R-AC system but also to know the principle of the thermodynamic again and how we are getting all the conversions. This course is really helpful.

  10. Timoteo Obiang Moro Obono

I strongly recommend this course for people interested on HVAC systems.

  11. Stuart Phillips

Fantastic course, amazing what you can learn and the confidence gained in 5 days!

  13. Charles Wattleworth

A fantastic course which has been written, taught and structured to give a great understanding of Marine Refrigeration and AC systems. I now feel confident on working with these systems onboard yachts. Thank you for a great week.

  14. Calum Ross

Having minimal experience working on refrigeration systems, this course gave a higher appreciation for both the practical and theoretical elements. This course will be massively beneficial when I attend college for my COC upgrade. Stu and his team are well experienced in this field and very approachable with any questions that I had.

  15. Sean Hazley

Stuart and Hannah went above and beyond to cater for my skill set. I started the course with little to no practical knowledge and confidence in working on refrigeration systems, but have ended the week feeling I could work safely and comfortably on any system I may come across. Developing skills in fabricating pipework has also been a huge plus for me.

  16. Stuart Duff, 3rd Engineer; Oil & Gas Industry

This course is exactly what I was looking for. Id recommend this course to any marine engineers that have limited hands on experience with AC and fridge systems. My confidence has grown as a result. I now have a much better understanding of the ‘black art’ that is refrigeration. The lecturer Stuart knows his stuff and delivers the course in an easy to learn format.

  17. Samantha Hubbard. Engineer. Super Yacht Industry

I finally understood so many aspects of refrigeration that hadn’t made sense learning on my own. Really great to get hands on experience and practice trouble shooting a system.

  18. Jonathan Tailford

I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Neil was incredibly helpful & patient with any & all questions throughout.

I feel much more confident with regards to refrigeration and all associated components; I would highly recommend this course to any & all engineers that deal with refrigeration.

  25. Kyle Ronney; Second Engineer.

Very beneficial course. well planned and organised.

  26. Kobia Charnas

From all the modules and courses I have completed en route to my marine engineering licensing this has by far been the most enjoyable and enlightening course I have done. The course exceeded my expectations and was great value for money. Stuart is a great teacher who has a vast wealth of knowledge when it comes to HVAC systems. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to advance themselves in the engineering world.

  27. Anatolijs Vahromejevs

  29. Michael Potter

Really well thought and presented, covering all the necessary sections in a very informative manner. The “hands on” fridge rig makes it so much more engaging and helpful.

  30. Richard Smyth

The course provided a very good theory component with detailed notes, backed up with practical training on test rigs, going through the complete repair and commissioning process.

  31. Marcin Roesler

I feel much more confident with HVAC in term of hands on. Fully recommend to all marine engineers.

  32. Jolyon Brayton, Chief Engineer

I can’t recommend this course enough. Stuart is a most excellent instructor, Stuart is an incredibly knowledgeable on all matters pertaining to the dark art of air Conditioning and refrigeration. he takes great pleasure in making sure you understand the fundaments and practical sides, giving you the confidence to get hands on. For any yacht engineer wishing to advance their understanding of system, this is a must.

I know that a lot of yacht based engineers will not want to pay for this course, as It has no credit to the SV or merchant licence, but it is worth every penny (cent). I did the course, as I find it eternally frustrating having to rely on contractors whom say they will do a job, then don’t turn up, or carry a job to poor standards, leaving you with ongoing issues through the season.

Upon return to my vessel I purchased the necessary equipment and tools, to carry out our own work, We’ve already covered the cost of the course and tools by not having a service engineer come to the boat.

  33. Stephen Delaney

Great breakdown of Refrigeration systems. I have definitely come away from this course with a greater knowledge of these systems. Would very much highly recommend this course if you are looking to gain a greater understanding of refrigeration systems on board. The practical aspect to the course was fantastic.

One of the best training that I attended in offshore career. Mr. Stuart has shown huge experience in both HVAC and Oil and Gas sector, which explains his good approach toward students. Complete course is orientated toward Marine and Oil and Gas sector, which means all examples and training content is real and applicable in practice. Course is divided in two parts, theory and practice. Personally I have found both highly useful and Mr. Stuart approach was great while teaching both. Mateo 10/01/2020
