Before we start, let me ask you a few questions:
- Have you ever stood by a refrigeration system and wondered ‘How on earth do I fix this?’
- Have you ever had the living quarter’s air conditioning break down and it’s so ridiculously hot inside that people can’t sleep and the office area is unbearable to work in. The next thing you know, your client or work colleagues are screaming at you to get it all back on line.
- Have you ever wished you had technical backup whenever you needed it, so you didn’t feel alone in making your decisions or have to guess what the fault might be.
- Have you ever thought you would love to learn more about refrigeration systems but don’t have the time to commit several years to a college course. Let alone take the time off work or fit it into your rotations?
But the biggest problem is that ‘YOU’ are responsible for keeping this equipment running. If something breaks down, YOU are the one who has to fix it. That means that you need to make the decision to get all the skills you need to do your job in the safest, most effective way possible. Of course your company should help you do this, but YOU need to drive it forward.
Training is a vital part of your career development
So the consequences of ‘Not Knowing’ in our industry are simply catastrophic. Lives are at risk!
The same applies to superyachts and even the merchant Navy. Any offshore installation, ship or vessel is a high risk area and that’s why we have to follow procedures and be competent in our roles. That’s why we have a skills matrix and every task that you perform MUST be covered by a competence assessment.
Still wondering how on earth you are meant to fix all of this equipment?
Then let me introduce you to the solution!
The Refrigeration Masterclass is an exclusive coaching program that will take you from head scratching ‘I don’t know’ to ‘fully competent refrigeration technician’. It can also include the C&G 2079 F-Gas qualification (Optional) which is the mandatory legal qualification required to work with refrigerants. The course starts with basic refrigeration principles and progresses through a structured program that goes way beyond just an F-Gas course. You will learn in great detail about service and maintenance procedures as well as the best practices in fault finding & troubleshooting techniques. The final week is all about documentation and we make sure that you have everything you need to either start your own company or to operate with complete efficiency in any engineering department.
In addition, it also includes membership to our technical support forum, so if you ever have a problem that you can’t diagnose then simply ask your questions in the forum and we will be on hand to help you fix the fault.
Who is it for?
This course is for marine engineers who love working at sea. You could be in the super yacht industry or the cruise ships through to the merchant navy including LNG Tankers, Cargo ships or supply vessels. It’s also very relevant to any electricians, mechanics or ventilation technicians who work offshore in the Oil & Gas Industry. If you have an engineering background and want to learn the latest ‘Real World’ experience based techniques about refrigeration systems, then YES, this is definitely for you.
This course provides the opportunity to fast track your learning into 6 weeks and allows you to complete it from the comfort of your own home or whilst you are away at work so that it fits in with your rotation.
The course is mostly online and each week a new topic of content will be released. You will be required to complete all tasks including e-lessons, videos, study guides and quizzes and you also have the opportunity to attend regular online Q&A sessions with the lecturer. This is where you can ask any questions related to the topic that you are on and the lecturer will answer them straight away for you. Throughout the course, you will be supported every step of the way and based on our students feedback, we know that you will become an authority about refrigeration equipment.
